- The Business Development Officer will provide agribusiness development services to agribusiness in the farming zones
- Keenly analyze the agribusinesses’ current and past budgets, expenses, sales, revenues and product deficiencies in order to provide recommendations for business growth and problem resolution.
- Continuously participate in identifying new business opportunities that could impact on youth employment in agribusiness.
- Work closely with other business development service providers and other stakeholders to develop creative strategies to promote growth of agribusinesses.
- Provide training and other technical support services based on the needs of the agribusinesses and agriprenuers.
- The incumbent will organize business opportunity meetings with agribusiness actors in the farming zone.
- Support agribusinesses to be investor- ready
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Ideally, the applicants for the Business Development Officer jobs should hold University Degrees in Agri-Business, Entreprenuership, Development Economics, Economics, Marketing, Small Business Management or related field and experience working in an entrepreneurial environment or as owner/manager of a small business
- A minimum of three years of professional experience in agribusiness, and/or value chain and market access related consultancy, and/or analysis/research of agribusiness and/or regional socio-economic development projects;
- Previous exposure and experience in working with public sector, private sector and donor organizations on institutional development or similar projects will be an asset;
