Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for human resource management and staff development
- In charge of operations management and programme implementation
- In charge of monitoring and evaluation
- Responsible for programme development and strategic leadership
- Financial management and donor report writing
- Partnerships, networking and funding proposal development
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should hold a Master’s degree in Development Studies or related field
- At least three years’ experience of working in a developing country
- Previous experience of working in Africa
- Significant experience of working in an NGO environment
- Proven experience of managing multiple programmes and meeting deadlines
- Proven experience of financial reporting to bi-lateral donors
- Proven experience of programme management and monitoring and evaluation
- Previous exposure and experience of livelihoods programming
- Strong IT skills including MS Office and Google programs
- Knowledge of financial management and donor reporting
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks, planning ahead and meeting deadlines
- Excellent communication, diplomatic and negotiation skills
- Ability to organise, train and motivate a multicultural team of staff
- Disciplined and able to make decisions with minimal guidance
- Qualification in project management, M&E or related area
- A clear understanding of contemporary issues and ethics in international development
- An awareness of issues affecting education and natural resource management in rural settings
- Personal attributes
- Enthusiastic and motivated individual with the ability to motivate others
- Comfortable living in rural environments and ability to adapt to changing circumstances
