Procurement Officer Job Vacancy at Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Develop and review appropriate systems, procedures and guidelines for procurement of goods and services
  • Actively participate in the planning and budgeting processes of the Council
  • Provide secretarial duties to the Contract and Evaluation Committee meetings
  • Work closely with the Heads of Department to identify procurement needs and develop procurement plans
  • Prepare and submit periodical reports for the procurement and disposal processes and submitting them to relevant authorities
  • Work closely with suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
  • Liaise with the Line Supervisor and Accounting Officer in identification of persons to the various Evaluation Committees
  • Provide timely advice to the Accounting Officer, Procurement and Disposal Committee and members of the Council on matters pertaining to procurement and disposal
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant should either an honors Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from a recognized awarding institution OR A Bachelor’s egree in a Non- Supply Chain Management discipline, preferably in Economics, Business Administration, or Commerce with a Post graduate Diploma in Procurement Management recognized from awarding institution OR Full professional qualification in supply chain management (CIPS) plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Procurement Management from a recognized awarding institution
  • Certification with Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supplies is an added advantage
  • A minimum of three years of related experience in a busy organization;
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, integrity and ethical behavior
  • Good team player
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure
  • Computer literacy i.e. proficiency in ICT
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
