GUSO Programme Coordinator Job Vacancy at Restless Development

Duties and Responsibilities: 
1. Programme Development and Reporting: 50% Working closely with the Programme Manager:
  • Oversee the development of the GUSO programme, and ensure that lessons in evaluation, capacity and needs assessment are shared and considered in the design of the programme and implementation plans.
  • Take lead in capacity and needs assessments to inform programme development.
  • Take charge of identifying and evaluating potential risks related to impact of the program and take necessary steps to include risk mitigation in the program design;
  • Lead on high quality identification of young people and stakeholders to meaningfully participate in the programme development process.
  • Steer internal and external processes/meetings to ensure adequate participatory approach to project design.
  • Work in liaison with the M&E department on the development of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation framework, output and outcome indicators, and identifying research areas.
  • Network with partners, identify opportunities for collaboration and development of new project ideas, including project proposals.
  • Lead on reporting of activities, based on the regular reporting agreements of the project
  • Prepare and compile all reports for internal and external audiences.
  • Work closely with the Fundraising & Partnerships Manager and country alliance members to develop the GUSO programme proposal
2. Partnership Management: 30% Working closely with the Programme Manager:
  • Identify, develop and manage relevant programme partnerships with government, donor, alliance members, NGOs and other key stakeholders.
  • Communicate and coordinate with dance4life international program manager in The Netherlands (over email and skype) to ensure the country program is in line with international dance4life program standards and requirements
  • Lead and participate in all programme events to raise the profile of the organization
  • Lead on partnership relations with other alliance members.
  • Represent Restless Development in local and national forums and platforms

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Master’s degree in a relevant subject, or a first degree with additional relevant professional experience.
  • At least four years’ experience in programme design and management, including proven experience of managing large and complex programmes relating to adolescent sexual reproductive health, livelihoods and/or civic participation
  • Focus on gender power relations and gender transformative programming
  • Demonstrated ability to network and establish collaborative relationships with a variety of actors, including with consortia.
  • Excellent numeracy skills with strong experience in budget management
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of project cycle management
  • Broad knowledge and understanding and practical experience of youth development in Uganda
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Previous exposure and experience in donor management and reporting
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make sound operational decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to work with young people
