Country Education Monitor Job Vacancy at FHI 360

Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Monitoring and Reporting:

• Undertake quarterly monitoring visits to projects to review progress against their log frame and work plans and to make recommendations for improvements
• Regularly inform and liaise with Country Finance Monitors on projects’ progress
• The incumbent will identify any potential risks and problem areas and report these to the PwC Portfolio Manager with proposals for possible solutions and mitigating measures
• Report back on a regular basis through the Country Coordinator in Kampala on projects’ educational outcomes and impacts, and that the program is being delivered effectively, efficiently and sustainably within the agreed timeframes as specified

2. Knowledge management and lessons learning:

• Support the Country Coordinator to develop and implement a knowledge management and lessons learned work plan for the relevant country.
• Actively participate actively in a Country Coordination / CEM community of practice
• Assist the Country Coordinator on stakeholder engagement, as agreed. 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

• The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree. Possession of a Master’s degree is highly preferred
• At least five years’ experience working in international educational development is required, with preferred experience working with international/local NGOs and DFID
• Project management experience is highly desirable
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to disseminate lessons learned effectively, and to identify risks/issues and escalate as appropriate
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is required.
• The applicant must be based in Uganda.
