Key Duties and Responsibilities: The Credit Manager duties and
responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Strategy:
- Establish and monitor credit policies to ensure organization meets sales and risk management goals
- The jobholder will design documents, procedures, and credit policies needed to enhance systems and processes
2. Management:
- Evaluate credit worthiness/risk of groups and individuals
- Supervise and train a growing team of Loan Officers and Credit Supervisor, and ensure that they are performing their duties
- Keenly monitor repayment rates and ensure loan staff follow-up on late loans
- Work with management to craft procedures and policies
- Travel regularly to the field to monitor activities and meet with customers
3. Product Development: Assist in
designing new products and incorporation of such products into model
4. Customer Relations:
- Keenly analyze current customer relations and evaluate direction for organization
- Draft policies for improved customer relations
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should ideally hold a Degree from recognized university in finance, business administration or related field
- A minimum of four years of demonstrated experience in credit and collections
- Strong interest in learning ways in which business solutions can be incorporated into development organisations
- Willingness and eager to work non-traditional business hours to ensure tasks are completed
- Prior experience as a supervisor or manager in credit department strongly desired
- Possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate staff
- Strong problem solving and financial analysis skills
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Excel
