- Plan, implement and evaluate the HR management and development strategy including recruitment and selection, discipline, grievance, counselling, pay and conditions, contracts, training and development;
- Regularly monitor and report on HR matters, opportunities, development plans and achievements within agreed parameters;
- Manage the HR departmental expenditure budget;
- Work closely with other departments to understand all necessary aspects and needs of HR development, and ensure they are fully informed of HR objectives and achievements;
- Ensure HR activities integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care;
- The incumbent will inform management of critical HR situations and issues, including changes in manpower needs and legal considerations;
- Develop and evaluate training programmes to effectively meet staff training needs;
- Co-ordinate staff induction and performance reviews as per the company policy;
- Manage the company’s payroll and review employee benefit programs in line with the company policy;
- The jobholder will also manage the staff time and attendance system and all staff grievances and welfare matters;
- Update job descriptions and specifications on a regular basis.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in HRM, Social Work and Social Administration, Business Administration or a related field and a Postgraduate qualification in Human Resources Management.
- At least eight years’ experience in HR, three of which should be at middle management level.
- Broad working knowledge of Uganda labour laws.
